Sat 4/11 15:00 – 16:30
Burning candles in the chancel of the German Church in Helsinki.

German Church

In the memorial service we once again remember the deceased of the past year. During the service, their names are mentioned and a candle is lit for each of them. In addition, you have the opportunity to light a candle for other people with whom you are connected in love.

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:4

You have had to say goodbye to a loved one in the past few months. This is often a difficult time, because time and again we are missing our loved one here in our lives. You are not alone in this pain!

In the memorial service we once again remember the deceased of the past year in particular. During the service their names will be mentioned and a candle will be lit for each one. In addition, you have the opportunity to light a candle for other people with whom you are connected in love. With God, nothing and no one is lost! He, who let our life begin in this world, transforms our earthly body after this life. Together we want to share this hope in the service and remember those who have gone before us. We will celebrate the service in German, Swedish and Finnish.

After the service there will be an opportunity to have a cup of coffee or tea with Deacon Timo and Pastor Päivi in the fireside room and to talk with each other.

A warm invitation to the memorial service on Saturday, 4 November 2023 at 3 pm in the German Church, Unioninkatu 1, Helsinki.
