Lahti • Lahtis

Lahti (Swedish: Lahtis) is located on the southern shore of Lake Vesijärvi and is the centre of the Päijät–Häme region. Lahti is the ninth largest city in Finland with a population of around 120 200. Lahti has been best known for its radio station and the Salpausselkä competitions (Lahti Ski Games, Salpausselän kisat) since the 1920s. The Hämäläis dialect is spoken here, and Lahti shows particular strengths in the fields of the environment and industrial design.
